No Thrush occurs when the oral bacterial balance in your mouth is out of whack, this can be caused by over using antibacterial or antimicrobial mouth washes too much. Tongue piercing aftercare is simple, cool stuff as much as possible as often as possible (that's freezies, slushies, crushed ice, chamomile ice cubes etc.). That doesn't include dairy products (milk, yogurt, sour cream, ice cream or any milk products) which tend to leave a coating on the tongue which can annoy a new piercing. Oral rinses like good old school Listerine, yep the awful tasting yellow stuff is perfect to use as a post piercing rinse.
