Answer

To clarify, it is ONLY illegal for sex (vaginal, oral, anal) and certain forms of sexual contact. Some states have a different age of consent for sex than the age for sexual contact (which I'm sure can be interpreted in many ways and may be dependent on how a judge or jury feels depending on the case in question). There is nothing wrong with being together. Not that it would be morally wrong, but it would go against laws in most countries (1st world, especially). Not to mention, at that age she may not be ready for sex to begin with.

Answer

It is HIGHLY discouraged by society and is illegal. If you're truly in love... well, love is love, despite age. But just as casual dating it probably should not happen.

Answer

It is just sick and wrong. 14 year olds are just children. You can justify it all you want, but it is still illegal no matter what anyone's opinions about it are. Find an adult partner to be with. Let the children grow up first. If you even have to seek an answer to that question, then you already know it's wrong.

Before 1991 in Holland, people as the ones who posted the answers above were given much more gravity to their opinions than after 1991. Like the United States, any adult men who was caught in the company of a minor below 21 years of age was hauled off in handcuffs. Like in the U.S. now, it was virtually impossible for a 27-year old man to marry a 14-year old girl in Holland before 1991, so the ultra-right had a monopoly over the legal system. Then came statutory rape reform in 1991 in Holland and overnight the legal age of consent was lowered to 16 years old and 12 to 15 year old girls had veto power whenever any statutory rape charge was brought against their adult boyfriends or fiances.

I don't know what's the best answer for you. The statutory rape laws in our country are a product of a casting system that rewards those who found love early and punishes those who bloom late and try to make up for lost time. Let's face it. I used to work in social services and I can say that in spite of widely-spread public misconceptions about your situation, your specie shows more humility than these punks in their early-to-mid teens who leave their young girls friend high, dry, and pregnant.

Forget about pedophilia. It's a Greek mythological pseudo-science that is representative as to why the Greek empire fell and the Greeks now live in a filthy, poor, and decaying country. The Moslems, who were once their slaves, condone relationships like yours becoming marriages. Shrinks always like to be on the winning side because that's where the money is. Prisons are becoming overpopulated with people who don't belong there. (Makes you wonder if someday we have massive prison rioting all over the country.) A real child molester preys on small children below 11 years old. (Isn't strange how society seems oblivious to 13, 14, and 15-year old boys molesting 5, 6, and 7-year old girls? Doesn't it anger you that if your 14-year old significant other got falsely accused of murder, the prosecutor would be all ready to ask that she be tried as an adult?)

Don't get me wrong. You must never let your guard down. However, if you stand by and stay with her and give her your heart and understanding, ten years from now, you and her will be laughing at the comments that all of the people above me posted. I used to work with a woman whose mother was 14 years old and father was 26 years old when they got married. Her parents are together to this very day and they've been married for over 40 years.

Holland was in the same situation, but it wised up. Sooner or later the United States has to do the same.

The Middle Eastern countries are rich countries in spite of the fact that their culture embraces marriages in which couples have the same age difference as you and your significant other. I heard two Middle Eastern men got thrown in jail for marrying girls as young as 13 and 14 years old in Nebraska. If they get attacked in prison, I guess we can't complain about our gas prices going up.

Answer

to be honest if it's love then it shouldn't matter. but i highly recomend that you wait until your partner has turned 16 then he/she is legal. and try not to kiss in public because people can report you for it so be careful!

If it's love, and it's mutual, then it should be allowed. There isn't anything I'm aware of that would ban this sort of relationship in the lawbooks. Technically, they are both underage if they are both giving, then there shouldn't be a problem. It is not illegal for them to date, without sex, until both are of the age of consent

If you mean sexual contact when you say 'together,' no it is not legal. The age to consent for sexual contact is at least 16 years old. In some jurisdictions age of consent can be 17 or even 18, but dating (as in dinner and a movie) is okay.

I would imagine that would be best left to the 14-year-old's parents' discretion and the local age-of-consent laws. (However, popular folklore tells us that "half your age plus six" is the minimum age you're socially allowed to date [presumably with a minimum of, say, thirteen]; in your case, 14.5. Do with that formula as you will; there's no legal basis for it.)

In my opinion no, its not ok. My reason for this is simple...Immaturity. If it was the other way round, (i myself dated a 17yr old when i was 13) an older boy and younger girl, the level of maturity is around about the same. Boys are always less mature than girls anyway, so having four years difference would be like hanging with a little brother, not a boyfriend.

your not supposed to be dating anyone older than 17 if your only 14.. its the law.

but i don't think its right

because ..if you love them , that's just keeping you away from someone you love.

the person who is over the age of 18 dating a 14 year old can be charged if they touch you.

hope this helps .

It might not be legal, and could be classed as rape, but if you think you are ready and make sure its safe, its up to you
