Well, it is better than putting it in your pocket where it might fall out or get all dirty with all the stuff in your pocket. A lot ofpeople say you shouldn't but I feel it is a better option than storing it in your pocket, and why would they make a rosary in a necklace form if it weren't supposed to worn around the neck?

Also, people wear those small ten beaded bracelet rosaries and I have never heard any criticisms against that.

Personally, I think it is okay to wear a rosary as long as you don't wear it as a decoration or accessory.

As a general rule, no, you don't do that. The rosary is not a piece of jewelry. If you wore one around your neck, under your shirt, to use when you prayed, that would probably be acceptable. But you don't wear one like jewelry.

No. A Rosary is NOT jewelry. It is a tool used for meditative prayer.

No it would not be sacrilegious. However, a rosary is not a piece of jewelry and should not be worn. It should be carried in a pocket or a purse.

Is it OK for a non-Catholic to wear a Catholic symbol such as a rosary?

The rosary is meant for prayer, it isn't jewelry. You could wear a cross necklace; and it is okay to wear a cross necklace if it is blessed too. So the answer is NO. Most Catholics would be offended if you wear the Rosary, but not because you are not Catholic, but because the Rosary is NOT meant to be worn. Rosary beads are a sacred tool used for prayer and worship. They may be beautiful, but they are not to be worn as jewelry. It is acceptable to wear a rosary only if you wear it out of devotion to Christ and Mary. It just so happens to appear to be jewelry. I wear my rosary only so i can have Mary close to my heart at all times, there is no doctrine of the Catholic Church forbidding it so as long as it is out of devotion and not for the sake of vanity then it is okay Whether Catholics consider it acceptable for Catholics to wear a rosary depends on the cultural context. It would only be suitable for a non-Catholic to wear a rosary in a culture that permits Catholics to wear one, and then it would only be suitable if the non-Catholic had some sort of appropriate devotion to it. The only time I have ever seen a habit worn normally is by a religious (priest, brother, nun, or sister). In this case, the rosary hangs from their belt on the side so that it is always within reach when you wish to pray. In this day and age, I have seen a few people wearing a rosary around their neck. As noted above, the rosary is NOT jewelry, if you wish to wear a rosary around your neck, I would recommend that you wear it under your clothing as many Catholics would be offended by people wearing a rosary as a necklace.

Why does Cristiano Ronaldo wear rosary beads?

He wears them because he is a Roman Catholic.

Can believers wear the rosary without being a Catholic?

Not real sure what you are asking. How can you be a "believer" without being Catholic? A rosary is not normally worn, except by some brothers, sisters, and nuns who have the rosary hanging from their belt as part of their religious habit.

How do you wear a rosary?

If you want to wear a Rosary, you may wear it in any way you please. It's a free country. However, be aware that a Rosary is not jewelry.A Rosary is an aid to prayer and a powerful symbol used to recall the events in Jesus's life, Think of how people described stained-glass windows in the Middle ages, "the poor man's Bible."Would you buy a Jewish yarmulke and ask a Rabbi if it's okay to mount a propeller on it so you can wear it to a costume party? If you you drape a Rosary around your neck or your wrist, you are displaying ignorance of other people's religion, mocking--aping--their faith and prayers, and needlessly insulting them and their religion. How do you wear a Rosary? I would be surprised if a Catholic would wear a rosary, unless the Catholic were completely ignorant of the basic elements of his or her religion. But if you have the misguided idea that you are paying tribute to the Catholic religion by aping it, let me ask you a question that may shed light on your behavior. Would you go to a Jewish synagogue during services, sit down in front of the Rabbi, wearing phylacteries around your neck like a necklace, or wearing a prayer shawl as a necktie? Even if you insisted you had only the best of intentions, you would look like a fool, no one would believe you, and no one would be any the less insulted.Wear your Rosary if you like. It's a free country, as I said. You might consider finding a priest to ask him to bless the Rosary, which is traditionally what Catholics do before they begin using the Rosary. The blessing is a prayer that sets the Rosary apart for religious purposes, and then the priest asks God to bless the people who use the Rosary to pray, and bless the people they pray for. And then think why you're wearing the Rosary..Answer from a CatholicThe way to wear a rosary is to join an Religious Order, like the Dominicans, of which the rosary is part of their Habit that they wear attached to their belt. Some people find it very offensive if you are not wearing a religious habit of which the rosary on the belt is part. If you are not Catholic and you are just wearing them for decoration, then, yes, it is extremely offensive to a fervent Catholic to see the Mother of God's holy rosary treated like a fashion accessory by someone who has no more interest in praying with it and doesn't even know what it is for.

Yes.

Is it okay for a police officer who is not Catholic to wear the St. Michael medal?

Yes

You are a catholic and you want to wear a rosary around your neck you say it makes you look silly and you know that it's not right but you want to wear it so that GOD is always with meis that okay?

It's really up to you. Technically, the cross of a rosary should never hang below the rest of the rosary, but if you feel closer to God through wearing the rosary, then it's up to you. As to does it look silly? No of course not. It may be a little out of the norm and for some people who strictly follow the rules, then they might freak a little, but it's not a bad thing to do. If you are worried about breaking the Catholic rules, then no you should not wear it, but just remember that most of the rules of the Church are made by man not God.To be quite honest though, and this is my personal view so please don't take it offensively, God is with us all of the time, so you really don't need to wear the rosary to feel like He is always with you, but i can understand if you want to do so for comfort reasons.Hope that helped ^^

What is a rosary bead called to put ashes in?

There is no such bead on a Catholic rosary. The Catholic Church demands that the ashes of the deceased be respected, as the body would be respected, and buried.

Is there a rosary for non Catholics?

No, but there is nothing wrong with a non Catholic owning a Catholic rosary provided it is not abused. A rosary, despite some popular misconceptions, is not a piece of jewelry nor an ornament to hang from a rear view mirror.
