It is known colloquially among medical examiners as the "addict's final nail" (in the coffin, that is) with fatal outcomes via respiratory depression common among abusers of multiple CNSD's.
For example, had Anna Nicole Smith not been abusing soma (with 6 or 7 other CNSD's) she may very well still be stupid...er, I mean alive, today. Soma was her "final nail."

∙ 12y agoA hypothetical patient may be safely prescribed this drug combination. However the combination is not appropriate for every patient. As Ambien and Valium are each prescription drugs, they should only be taken (singularly or in combination) under the specific direction of a doctor or other provider.

I would say no. Ambien is a Non Benzodiazepine, which means it offers similar effects of a Benzo, but is not classified as a Benzo it will not register as a Benzo on a drug test. Valium is a Benzo so it would come up positive for Benzo's regardless of it being Valium or Xanax.
