I am interested in finding out the same info. I just started taking Straterra for concentration and inability to focus on any projects. I take 50 mg of zoloft in the morning and 25 around three I started taking 40 mg of straterra but it kept me up the entire night. I now am on 25 mg in the morning I am on day three and experience alot of tingling in the back of my head and legs. I also get alot of goose bumps like as if a cool draft came over me does anyone have any response?
According to my pharmacist, it is safe. But I still plan to check with my doctor since the leaflet mentions the dosage of Strattera might need to be adjusted with the addition of Prozac and other like medications.
Yes, Zoloft and Strattera can safely be taken together. Zoloft is used to treat depression and anxiety; whereas, Strattera is used to treat forms of ADD and ADHD. As long as the directions provided by your doctor are followed correctly, there is no problem with it.
My psychiatrist recently put me on both, but only with the goal of switching me from one to the other (Lexapro to Zoloft). She called referred to it as 'crossing over' in that I was to systematically go from 20mg Lex down to 15mg and add 25mg of Zoloft for the first week. Then, 15mg Lex down to 10mg and increase Zoloft by 25mg to now 50mg. Her goal was to get me to 75mg Zoloft or 100mg, but I opted to remain at 50mg and will plan to drop to 25 or even 0mg for the summer. I am treated for SAD and some dysthymia.
Not without discussing it with your doctor since clarithromycin can cause increased levels of Zoloft to stay in your system, resulting in a higher amount being in your system at any given time than before you started taking the clarithromycin.
The reason this can be bad is that it can cause serotonin syndrome (too much serotonin) which can be fatal if left alone.
IS IT SAFE TO TAKE ZOLOFT AND LITIUM TOGETHER?
Never take any medicine like that without talking to your doctor first. Only if he find it really necessary will it be discussed.
