Nothing. Vegetarianism is one of the healthiest lifestyles available- if you do it correctly. Many people stop eating red meat, fish, poultry but they don't research their new lifestyle, and their diets lack essential vitamins and other nutrients. if you don't eat meat you lose out on important nutrients and vitamins so choose the correct foods to substitute them.

Only if you don't know enough about nutrition. In many cases it can make you healthier, but you must understand how to be a vegetarian first to avoid nourishment deficiencies. Ultimately your health is more dependent on your activity level than whether or not you eat meat.

Being a vegetarian is very healthy, provided that the person makes sure to get a balanced amount of proteins, B-vitamins, folic acid, potassium, and other nutrients found in meat and poultry. Vegetarians who eat eggs, milk, and cheese have an easy time getting these nutrients, while true vegans have to plan their diets.

Vegetarians can eat unbalanced diets. I know some vegetarians who eat way too many sweets or fat, and it interferes with their health.

Vegetarians, or anyone else, need to make sure they eat a balance of fruits and vegetables, protein, unrefined complex carbohydrates and "good" fats.

A vegan diet is one of the healthiest.

ADA's position, published in the July issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, represents the Association's official stance on vegetarian diets:

"It is the position of the American Dietetic Association that appropriately planned vegetarian diets, including total vegetarian or vegan diets, are healthful, nutritionally adequate and may provide health benefits in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. Well-planned vegetarian diets are appropriate for individuals during all stages of the life-cycle including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood and adolescence and for athletes."

A vegetarian diet isn't the best diet out there for sure. But you can make it healthy.Truly a vegetarian diet is ok but as long as you can replace those calories, iron and other things you need daily which you can get from meat it will be ok. Meat has lots of protioen and if you don't replace it that is a problem.

Quorn, tofu and beans all contain loads of protein, so really taking meat out of your diet doesn't make it unhealthy as long as you use a substitute.

It isn't. Most of the world's population is vegetarian. All you need to do is combine your proteins (e.g. rice and beans) and you'll have a complete protein meal. Also, if you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian (who eats milk and eggs), each of these products are complete proteins, in and of themselves.

It is a myth that being vegetarian is bad for you.

What is a good title for a research paper about how unhealthy vegetarian diets are?

The title can be as simple as "Why vegetarian diet is unhealthy". However, I personally don't think they are. A vegetarian can get a very balanced food daily and its a myth that non-vegetarian food is essential or better. I am myself a Vegan for more than 10 years and I know such people who are so for more than 30 years. All of us are very healthy, much better than most of the people around!
