It is halal according to the department of health certification. The Hanafi and Maliki schools say that it is permissible and Shafi school rules that, since one cannot become intoxicated by it, it is permissible.

just read the ingredients and if there is nothing that is not halal then go for it ... it's not hard. but some of them do have alcohol varying from 0% to 6% so just read the label and that would tell you if it has alcohol or not. but other than that balsamic vinegar is made from aged grapps and such ... nothing to worry about there

I don't think so, as you can't be sure that all the alcohol is gone

The Quran stated that you shouldn't get drunk, although i am unfamiliar with the fatwas - and also, in the cases of brain damage to the working memory where a teaspoon of vinegar can help. a teaspoon of vinegar wont get you drunk or intoxicate you. if you're really picky - just smell the bottle to incorporate the taste into your meal.

It is permissible to consume vinegar made from wine as long as the effects of alcohol, e.g. intoxication, are not present. This permissibility is evident in the books of Fiqh.

No, White vinegar is plain Acetic acid in water, but either as a simple chemical mix (usually very cheap or cleaning grade vinegar) or through fermentation of distilled alcohol (akin to Vodka). White wine vinegar is made from the fermentation of real White wine. As such White vinegar has a simple acidic taste, whilst White Wine vinegar retains much of its original White wine taste, with its alcohol replaced by the Acetic acid of vinegar.
