Like almost every other food, salami is fine in moderation. As long as you do not over due it with the salami, you will be fine. Remember, salami is made from pork and different parts that come from pork. It tastes delicious but can be quite fattening. Therefore, I recommend that you eat it with some veggies on the side (perhaps in a sandwich) to kind of balance out the "good and the bad food."

Yes it is bad. it is one of the worst foods for high concentrations of trans fats, but salami is quite variable in degrees of badness. The dryest densest sort of salami can contain twice as much trans fats as the loosest type, and it also tends to contain more sodium which makes it even worse. The trouble is this type of salami is the tastiest and most satisfying too. If you have a cholesterol problem, tell yourself that salami is off your diet. Completely. Whatever type.
Salami is considered bad for you because it is extremely high in fat. A one ounce serving contains as much as 7 grams of fat.
