Too much candy is bad for not only dogs, but humans as well. But I do think that Candy is especially worse for dogs since they are more sensitive to sugar. So try and not feed candy to a dog. Keep in mind you should never feed chocolate to a dog, as this can be fatal to them.

Dogs can eat lollies, but it's not good for them.

Dogs can eat lollies, but it isn't very good for them. Apparently they will die if they eat chocolate though. Just try to feed your dog normal food, that is recommended for them!

Chocolate does not do any harm to dogs per say ... In general the toxic level of theobromine (which is the 'harmful' chemical in coco ) is between 100 and 150 milligrams per kilogram of body weight The average toxic dose of white chocolate is 200 ounces ...

Hard candy is harmful depending on there ingredients Xylitol is a common sweetener used instead of sugar and is highly poisonous, causing kidney failure in dogs ...

Thiobromine and caffeine in combination. Don't risk it, be safe, rather than sorry. Do NOT tempt fate, put chocolate away, properly, and don't fail to tell your guests your policy.
