Any RWD car can be a capable drifter when driven right. While the stock American KA24DE (or KA24E) equipped may not be as powerful as its Japanese CA18DET or SR20DET counterparts, it is still more than adequate when attempting to slide the well balanced 240sx chassis around. The short answer is yes, the stock USDM 240sx can be a good drift vehicle. As a note it is commonly accepted that the Coupe version makes for a better drift platform than the fastback due to its slightly lighter weight and stiffer chassis.

if it has the ka24de motor in it my 93 240 has the ka24de and it has over 300,000 miles on it and it has no problems at all, so it can have alot on it if it is kept in good shape
