Best Answer

No, ruminants are those animals like cows which regurgitate their food and chew it, then swallow it again for further digestion. Elephants don't do this, their food passes straight through the alimentary canal as ours does.

I'm going to trust my instincts on this one and say no. I've checked and I can't find anything, that refers to the Rhino as being ruminant.

ANSWER

That is correct. Rhinoceroses belong to the order of odd-toed ungulates, whereas all ruminants are members of the order of even-toed ungulates (however, not all even-toed ungulates are ruminants).

No. A zebra has the same digestive system as a horse, donkey or rabbit, which are called pseudo-ruminants or hind-gut fermentors. They ferment their digesta in their huge cecums instead of in their stomachs.
