I would say that Pierre's French Vanilla Premium Ice Cream is better for you than custard from a doughnut, for one thing, it's similar to 'soft serve.' I never made custard really, nor found it by itself at my Walmart Shopping Center, so I don't know what the nutrition of custard is, but I know Kozy Shack Pudding. It all depends on what percentage of fat you can eat and how much you weigh. I am looking to get away from the yellow bag of Lay's potato chips, so I switched from them to Shearer's Sour Cream and Onion potato chips, then to Pierre's Ice Cream, and now onto Mozzarella (sp?) Cheez Its. Lowering my fat and upping my protein, this kind of ice cream is only around 1/3rd sugars, if that's what you're considering carbs. At around 220 lbs, I'm aiming for 144 lbs and am not buying more ice cream any time soon. Some kinds of ice cream has eggs. I know the kind I just spoke about has pasteurized egg yolks in it.

∙ 13y agoIce Cream is actually made with thick cream, which gives it a smoother texture.
Ice Milk is just made with milk, which allows larger ice crystal growth and a grittier texture. However it costs less to make.

Ice cream is a frozen dessert made with milk, extra cream, sugar, flavoring, and in the commercial bit, additives and thickeners. This is then whipped or mixed while being frozen to achieve the right consistency.
