Is there a list of barbiturates?

If you go to Wikipedia and look up barbiturates you should be able to find a list of more/less all of them. However in terms of a list only listing the currently available barbiturates that is impossible to find. Most barbiturate lists you might find either leave out a number of drugs or were written in the 90's or around 2001 so they are not accurate. The most accurate barbiturate list I know of is from a paper on barbiturates so it is not a stand alone list.

I can tell you the currently available barbiturates in The United States as of the time I am writing this (01/02/2012). Just in the last year two of the few remaining barbiturates still on the market are no longer available (both due to fairly uncommon situations, hopefully one of them will become available again.

Luminal (phenobarbital)

Nembutal (pentobarbital)

Seconal (secobarbital)

Butisol (butabarbital)

Amytal Sodium (amobarbital sodium)

Brevital Sodium (methohexital sodium)

Butalbital (see below)

Recently discontinued:

Mebaral (mephobarbital)

Pentothal (thiopental sodium)

Technically not classified as a barbiturate (although some barbiturate lists do include it) however one of its primary active metabolites it phenobarbital.

There are numerous types of barbiturates in the world. Some of the brand names are phanodorm, seconal, mebaral, and amytal.
