John Wayne Gacy's 'house of horrors' on Summerdale Ave, Des Plaines, IL was demolished by police after the discovery of 28 of Gacy's 33 victims in and around the crawlspace under the floors. There has since been another home build on the vacant lot.

It was demolished in 1979 and all traces of the home including the barbecue pit and drive way were removed. The lot remained vacant for a few years before it was bought and a new house was built in the spot.

No. Initially the house 8213 Summerdale Ave. was a crime scene and was sealed off. After Gacy's convictions the home was demolished and another house was built on the lot. I have since heard (not a confirmed fact) that the new home was also abandoned due to paranormal activity.

From what I can tell, the house that now stands where the Gacy home used to be is not haunted. The original house was purported to have strange activity. Whether this was due to an actual haunting or overactive imaginations has never been ascertained.

Actually Gacy's house was long ago demolished and another home was built on the site. I have heard that strange things are heard and seen but if this is true I have no way of knowing.
