All those who are struggling with eczema are fully aware of the quality of life aspect of this skin disorder. The eczema symptoms include dryness, redness, itching, flaking, crusting skin patches that are really frustrating. Eczema affects round about 17% of children and 6% of adults in the United States and this number is too much close to 15 million Americans. The skin disorder may get worse with the exposure to different allergens or the irritants. The question that arises in everybody's mind is Can eczema be cured or not? To be very precise, there is no scientifically proven cure for atopic dermatitis/eczema.

If eczema can't be cured, these flare ups can surely be minimized and can also be prevented. Children or the adults outgrow the disease while the others continue to have eczema flareups. Mild to severe eczema can be treated by the usage of different dosage of corticosteroids. There are many treatments that help you to get rid of the symptoms and get a clear, smooth skin without any rough, patchy skin. You need to understand your skin condition, the environmental factors, eating habits, that worsen your condition. Keep in mind that food you are consuming can be a main factor behind your flareups. Various treatments that can help you to ease the condition are discussed below:

  • Coconut Oil: Coconut oil has antibacterial and saturating properties that help to eliminate, slow down or prevent the development of bacteria on your body.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple Cider Vinegar baths are proven to be an effective measure against keeping germs away and low bacteria count on eczema skin. It also helps create a balance PH level on skin, which naturally prevents bacterial growth.

  • Bleach Baths: Bleach baths, although not so natural, are the most effective method of bacterial elimination on eczema skin. There are many studies that prove the effectiveness of bleach baths for severe eczema cases.

  • Probiotics: Probiotics are one supplement that seems to make a noticeable difference with skin health (especially if the problem is diet/gut related).

  • Wet Therapy: Wet Wrap Therapy is one of the best treatments offered to the Eczema sufferers. This treatment include the wet bandages on the eczematic skin of the patients to keep the moisture sealed in the body.

  • Consulting your doctor/dermatologist can perfectly help you to minimize and normalize your conditions as eczema can't be cured but the conditions can be treated.

There actually is no known "cure" for eczema only treatments. The problems with standard treatments, light boxes, creams (corticosteroids etc) is that they have side effects, especially steroids which can weaken the skin. I've had it for years, and only recently have been looking for more natural treatments. Try searching for homeopathic remedies or something like http://www.eczema-cure-all.com (which worked well for me) or look on WebMD

Yes, there is a cure. I have an aunt that has eczema. She has to see a dermatologist and he perscribes her a pill and some cream.

There isn't really a cure for eczema at all, but don't get your hopes down!

First of all, DO NOT use lotion/ointments. Eczema is an internal thing, meaning it comes from the inside. These will make your eczema worse. Even if it stops the itch, it dries out your eczema even more and makes it crack and peel.

Second, eczema is mainly caused by an allergy or it is just genetic. I have eczema all over my legs, but my mother also had eczema so I got it genetically. If it is caused by an allergy then you are in luck. If you go to a nutritionist they can give you blood tests and tell you what your allergy is that is causing you to have eczema.

Third, a slow but simple way to get rid of your eczema is to use a product called Bag Balm. This is used on cow snouts/udders to get rid of dry skin. This is really the only ointment that works. Apply it to your eczema right before you go to bed. This is what I use. But do not stop using until your eczema is fully gone. Otherwise, your eczema will begin to itch terribly all over again and it will return even worse. You can find Bag Balm at a feed store. I do not own the rights to this product.

Also, coconut oil for eczema has proven to be very effective. Source: betrendsetter.com

MOST OF ALL, try your best not itch or scratch your eczema. Even I am guilty of it, but just try.

  • Treat the patient with the correct homoeopathic medicines. These will vary from patient to patient.
  • Don't scratch and I know it is impossible to do so. I have found ways to stop from scratching. 1. See your doctor. 2. Wash the wounds every night. 3. Dont try and touch/rub it.

It is a genetic disorder that usually coincides with Asthma and hay fever. It is not curable but it treated correctly, (not necessarily with medicine, but using softer soaps and moisturizing a lot with with a cream such as Eucerin) you may be able to minimize the effects and maybe even see them disappear. Also, there are cases where you grow out of eczema if you have it when your younger, though you can also 'grow into' it as well. Grease (even airborne) is a major trigger so avoid it if possible as well as strong chemicals. The best advice is moisturize problematic areas every time you get them wet. It's not fun to have, but it can be relatively controlled. DON'T USE HOT WATER, DON'T SCRATCH IT, USE SOFT SOAPS (and even these use sparingly), TRY TO STAY DRY, AND MOISTURIZE ALL THE TIME.

The only thing that would cure it is vitamin E tablets. Vitamin e gives you a another protective layer that attaches to your blood cells and also keep a healthy immune system. Scientist haven't proven this work so i would advice you not to go to the doctor and ask because they wont give it.

It is usually caused by parasites in your gut, and other problems around your digestive system and stuff like that. To stop these problems you have to eat less processed carbohydrates and sugary foods, and eat more vegetables, fruit, and anything natural. There are ways to treat it which don't involve using creams and ointments too. Get Chinese acupuncture to release toxins and all the other bad stuff, and you can use UV lights.

Eczema is a body signal that your liver is not functioning at full capacity. By using a natural treatment like a castor oil pack, eliminating dairy, taking a healthy oil like flax seed oil, and drinking more water you will improve your liver health which will improve your skin, hair, nail, hormonal, digestive, etc. etc. function.

There is no cure for eczema. Sorry :(. However there are several ways to treat it and handle the symptoms. One possibility is to visit a dermatologist and get a prescription from them. If you want a natural solution then you can use ointments and creams made out various substances like oatmeal or seaweed.
