Well 8 hours work a day entitles you to an hour lunch so I don't see why 4 hours couldn't give you half an hour break

It depends on the length of your shift and they only schedule shifts in half hour periods (almost never shorter than 4.5 hours). All lunches and breaks should be spaced out with 2 hours between them. Some Walmarts, california, I think have gotten in trouble for making employees work over their unpaid lunch shifts but these are just individual stores and not representative of walmart ads a whole. It represents the poor managers themselves who make these decisions and they are reprimanded by the company for doing so. Walmart as a corporation does not support making employees work over lunch or not take one. Quite the opposite, they enforce them to the benefit of the employee.
