It depends on the perspective. You are asking something like is Knife a good thing or a bad thing, or is Nuclear Power a good thing or a bad thing.

Witchcraft is a powerful tool which could be used for both good or evil. When used for good purposes it is a good thing, and when used for bad purposes it is a bad thing.

So the intention of the person who practice Witchcraft is the most important thing. Not that if Witchcraft is good or bad, but the purpose it is used for.

Some monotheistic religions deny Witchcraft labeling it as "Evil". This is purely misinterpretation of old scripts.

new answer: I think its nothing but bad and it is. It cant be used for good because the intentions are never good , just plain obvious. I mean, who would do such a creepy thing? It's pretty much just another word for black or dark magic, which is most definitely EVIL.

That would depend on your interpretation of good. Wicca is a religion about honoring the earth, accepting one another, showing and acting in love as opposed to harm and negativity. These are all things most would call "good", but some people will say Wicca is evil or bad because its not Christian.

Wicca is a recognized religion. Wicca is a peaceful, balanced belief system in tune with nature and its wonderful ways. A belief system and way of life based on pre-Christian traditions originating in Ireland,Scotland and Wales. The origins of Wicca can now be traced back to the Paleolithic peoples who worshipped a hunter God and a fertility Goddess. The one general rule in wicca is "An it harm none, do what you will"

There is no single set of beliefs nor practices that constitute Wicca, save the Rede and the Rule of Three that simply states "what you do comes back to you times three". The rituals practiced are associated with such natural phenomena as the four seasons of the year, the solstices and the equinoxes. Rituals are based on the connectedness of Nature to human life Rather than pray to a god beyond all experience, Wiccans are more concerned with self-awakening, with arousing their connectedness to nature and nature gods, female as well as male. We sing, dance and we chant. We burn candles and incense. We use herbs and charms. Sometimes, Wiccans favor herbs to traditional medicines. In group rituals we express our desires to our circle and the community. We ask for blessings from north, south, east and west. not just for us but for all. We meditate. We wish for a better life. We don't cook weird poisonous stews in cauldrons. We don't fly on brooms. We never pray for harm to our enemies. Wiccans simply worship nature and her goddesses and gods. The attraction to Wicca may be due to its friendliness towards natural ways, respect for women, its naturalistic view of sex and promise of power through magic . It is very popular among women. Wicca, like the Celtic religion, allows women full participation in the practice. Women are equals, if not superiors, of men. Women in Celtic mythology are unusual, to say the least. They are intelligent, powerful warriors and leaders of nations. Finally, it should be noted that Wicca is not related to the devil or devil worship. That practice is related to the persecution of "witches" by other faiths, especially during the medieval and Spanish Inquisitions, though not necessarily by the Inquisitors themselves since they often had other motives. The Malleus Maleficarum of 1486, which describes "the three necessary concomitants of witchcraft," namely, "the Devil, a witch, and the permission of Almighty God." continues today although less openly. The spirit of the witch hunter, however, lives on in the hearts of some of the extremely devout faithful who continue to persecute Wiccans, among others, as devil worshippers. The modern witch hunters do not demand purges . Rather, they try to abolish mention of wicca, in films, books and public forums. Any form which mentions Wicca or Witches, and any sign, symbol or number they, associate with the devil, but that evil is theirs and theirs alone. So you decide for yourself, as no Wiccan will hate or harm you for that decision, is Wicca bad or good.

As Wicca is a religion focusing not on race, but on the belief structures of the individual, there is not (to my knowledge) a specific African-American Wicca. If you are asking if there is a participation by African-Americans in wicca, then the answer is yes.
