The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is certainly one of the main symbols of Christmas in New York City.
The Yanks have never been snowed out. However, they have been in fairly heavy snow. Most recently in the 1996 home opener against the Kansas City Royals. The Yankees were snowed out on opening day in April 1982.
The Radio City Music Hall is located in New York, New York. So the Christmas Spectacular is hosted there. The Rockettes will be performing their 86th season in 2013.
There is even a song called ( New York City Christmas). The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, store window displays, and the uptown snowflake Crystal ( a welcome change from the Tannenbaum cycle) all are unique Gotham Christmas customs as is the Christmas Show at Radio City,.
There is no NYC (Christmas Parade) per se, it should be noted the last Float in the Thanksgiving Day Parade, is traditionaly Saint Nick in his sleigh with reindeer, heralding in the Yuletide season! No Christmas Parade, however.
