The New Hampshire Red breed is a very early maturing breed and grows rapidly. Eggs production should start at about 5 to six months old with good nutrition and health. Know as a duel purpose bird it is an average egg layer but the breed is better known for its meat quality. Expect about 120 eggs per year from a healthy NHR.
