Ulan Bator is the capital city of Mongolia (Mongol Ard Uls), with a population of 1,278,000 located 47 degrees 55 minutes North latitude, 106 degrees 53 minutes East longitude. The city lies at an elevation of 4,300 feet today being the cultural, industrial, and financial centre of the Mongolian nation.

Ulan Bator is also the centre of Mongolia's road rail and air network, being connected by rail to the trans Siberian Railway linking Russian capital Moscow with Chinese capital Beijing.
