Is the engine tapping when running? If not, check the oil level. If the oil level is at the full mark on the dip stick, then check the oil sending switch. My just need to replace it. Easy fix if that is your problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Faulty oil pressure switch would be my guess, same thing with my Previa. Replace the cheap switch and see if it is a more expensive problem.

First be sure the oil level is correct and you are using the correct weight oil for that engine and climate. Then check that the engine idle speed is correct. Then check the oil pressure sending unit for accuracy with temporally installing a manual oil pressure gauge. If all that checks okay, you probably have a tired engine with worn bearings and oil pump.
