Although there is no office entitled "Governor of Mumbai", there are a number of municipal offices to which you may be referring. The Mayor of Mumbai (a largely ceremonial post) is Dr.(Mrs.) Shubha Umesh Rau; the Municipal Commissioner is Dr. Jairaj M.Phatak.

You might also be referring to the office of Governor of Bombay, the post established by the British during the colonial period. This no longer exists, as the name of the office was changed to the Governor of Maharashtra in 1960. (The current Governor of Maharashtra is Kateekal Sankaranarayanan.)

Mr. Vilasrao Dagadojirao Deshmukh is the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra, India. He was born in 26 May 1945 and is a member of the Congress party. He succeeded Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde who served as Maharashtra Chief Minister from 16 January 2003 to 1 November 2004.

Ashok Shankarrao Chavan is the present Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Chavan was sworn in on 8 December 2008, after Vilasrao Deshmukh and the Indian National Congress party selected him to be Deshmukh's successor on 5 December 2008. He also served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in Vilasrao Deshmukh government. Chavan is son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shankarrao Chavan and they are the first father-son duo in the state's history to become chief ministers.
