There are several reasons why the Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) may appreciate against the US dollar. First, an increase in foreign investment in Ukraine can lead to greater demand for the hryvnia and strengthen its value. Additionally, favorable economic conditions, such as improved GDP growth or reduced inflation, can also contribute to the appreciation of the currency. Lastly, a decrease in political instability or an improvement in the country's credit rating can increase investor confidence and drive up the value of the hryvnia.

ukrainian banks appreciate the grivna purposefully. unlike the u.s. dollar, which is regulated in large by the state of the economy, appreciation or depreciation in different countries regulates differently than here in the u.s.. the heads of the ukrainian banks (of which are largely national bank) make money by the changes in the grivna. if they invest in say 100 usd at 5 grivna per dollar, they buy it with 500 grivna. if they then depreciate the grivna to 10 grivna per dollar, their investment is now worth 1000 grivna. without any other changes in the economy such as inflation of prices, they just made 500 grivna. Now banks do this on a much larger scale. if they buy 1 million usd for 5 million grivna, and the grivna depreciates to 10, they just made 5 million. The process works exactly the same way in reverse (such as the case of appreciation against the dollar). its just all a scam regulated by the filthy rich owners of the banks.
