When can you clean your house after a hysterectomy?

Depending upon what kind of hysterectomy you have, recovery can be fast or slow. Conventional hysterectomy requires a 6 week recovery time with no sex (bummer). Laparoscopichysterectomy is usually shorter between 2-3 weeks. A woman I know had sex 1 week after a laparoscopic hysterectomy but had bleeding occur. She recovered fine though.

Hysterectomy is a major surgery. It can be performed abdominally with a horizontal incision above the pubic bone or or with a vertical incision from the navel (belly button) to the pubic bone, vaginally, with a laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy, or a robotic hysterectomy. Regardless of the type of hysterectomy, the attachments to the uterus, including the ligaments, blood supply and nerve supply are severed. When the uterus is removed the functions of the uterus are permanently lost, including menstruation, cardiovascular protection and sexual function.

The average length of recuperation from hysterectomy is 11 months, although many women return to work within six to eight weeks after surgery.

After your body heal. You can have sex as usual. I found it to be more th pleasurable than before my surgery. Now I can't get enough of it. Hope this will help. Take care

Once you have healed. Seek medical advice before doing any strenuous exercise. You won't feel up to it for a few weeks anyway.
