I believe this is good between 2002 and 2005 but may work for other Kia Sedona
1: Remove Trim, this looks hard but is easy , first remove black Philips screw from underneath the ashtray (the ashtray pulls out) - do not remove the silver screw.
2: Unclick the trim, this is wood colored in the posh version and I believe black on the standard versions. Start at the bottom (below gear shift) and give short but firm tug. it shoud pop up, do not force up more than half an inch or so. Work around the trim from bottom to top. pulling evenly from both left and right. for the top part use a round edged knife i.e. not sharp, you can feel the plastic lugs that hold it in, not much force is required.
3: Gently pull out the trim and remove the cables for the heater, emergency signals etc. Remember to write down the order - they are color coded but not the sockets so you can get it wrong. there is a soft plastic piece on each electrical connector that you squeeze in. if the connector does not come out easily then you are probably not doing this right. Try not to lose the cables in the dash tape down if necessary.
You do not need to remove the 12v connectors, but may need to drop the car into low to gently life the assembly over the top of the shift. rest on passeger seat.
4: You can now see the radio screws. the machine screws that attach the radio to the metal frame are the prime ones to go for although these can be a bit difficult to remove. but go for these first. If you get into trouble then take out the frame and sort out the other screws later.
5: Disconnect the radio cables and you are done, do not forget that once the power is removed you may need the radio code to re-enable after putting back and if replacing with a new radio.
6: If you want to remove a stuck CD (or two put in by accident) then you have to take off the top lid, there are 6 very small screws to remove. Also you will need to pull off the front panel, this is tricky but there are just clips on the sides that have to be lifted off, the whole pannel knobs and all comes off. You then have to be careful but can get CD out at this point.
7: Re-assembly is in revers of the above.
