You'll notice that the peice on the key has a retractable plastic peice, using your thumbnail or a tiny flat screw driver lift that up from the bottom of the key, you'll notice on the keyboard (where you'll place the key) you'll have two hooks, hook the key on the only way it will go, then push the back end down to snap in the bottom bracket. give it a couple tries and you should have it back inplace in no time. -Christopher Jazinski Also, if the white plastic hinge piece has dislodged from the key and you do not have another to follow how it is assembled, do the following. The legs of the white plastic hinge piece are placed under the legs of the black plastic hinge piece while the thin horizontal bar of the white piece is held in place behind the provided latch. The legs of the white piece are then spread out as the legs of the black piece are pressed down onto the white legs. The tabs on the white legs snap over the legs of the black piece. -George Doudoukjian

Replacing a keyboard is surprisingly easy. The important thing to remember is to make sure you remove all forms of electricity from the computer. Then you can just remove the power strip and remove the screws at the top and unplug the keyboard from the mother board. You install the new keyword and you are done.
The Computer doesn't need to know you have a new key Board If It's The Same Manufacturer and model But If It's A different keyboard you need to do the following:
REQUIRED:Software For Keyboard
Step 1: Uninstall the keyboard software (If It Came With Software)
Step 2: Disconnect Keyboard
Step 3: Install Keyboard Software
Step 4: Follow Instructions and Insert Keyboard when prompted.
The first thing you should do is remover the power cord and the battery so that your laptop does not have any power going thru it. Remove the power bar strip after you are sure that the laptop has no power, and unscrew the two top screws with a Philips screwdriver. Then you are ready to remove your old keyboard. Remove the tab that connects it to the mother board and switch it out with the new keyboard. You can now screw back on the screws you had removed and replace the power strip that was removed. There is also this very helpful video I found online showing you step by step how to do it.
Most probably you should replace the entire keyboard. Certain malfunctions can be remedied by replacing individual keys but many constructions do not permit this to be done in any convenient manner.
As far as I know: Power down, remove battery, open front 180%, pry open hinge plate, unscrew keyboard, pull out wire "clip", then reverse the process with the new keyboard.
If the little retaining ring is still inside the key then you just snap it back in.If not you have to replace it and then snap it back on.
