In the first ring of the seventh circle in Dante's Inferno there is a river of blood named Phelgethon. This river is a result of all of the violence on earth and serves as an allegorical punishment for those who were violent against people. Each person is immersed in the boiling blood according to the degree of their sin. For example, the soul of someone who killed just one person stand with his legs in the burning blood, while the soul of a tyrant such as Alexander stands with his entire head covered.
Violent individuals who have harmed others physically or destroyed the environment are punished in this circle of Hell. This round is further divided into three zones for different types of violence: against others, against oneself, and against nature. Souls in this circle are submerged in a river of boiling blood and fire based on the severity of their sins.
A circle has no corners. :) It just goes round and round and round...
because if it had 4 straight lines instead, we would call it a rectangle.

The punishment for this sin would likely be found in the Seventh Circle of Hell, specifically in the Third Round known as the Violence against God (Blasphemers) and Nature. In Dante's Inferno, sinners who commit acts that are considered violent against nature, such as squandering one's property through gambling, would be punished in this specific circle.

Not really because a semi-circle is a half-circle so only half of it is completley round.
Both usages are correct, as in these examples: "A circle is round, so it is drawn round." "I drew a circle around the correct answer."
That sounds like The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell.
