Belt map is on the hood or the firewall. If not go find one. It is in the manual and inside the engine compartment.
Go to www.autozone.com and look under specifications, belt routing. On a 1989 Dodge Grand Caravan, the diagram is on the side of the engine where the S-belt is located.
There is a picture in the motor compartment.
THERE IS A STICKER ON THE LEFT SIDE ON TOP OF THE PULLEY'S IT SHOWS YOU HOW TO THREAD IT.

Check out the following website for a pic of the routing of the serpentine belts for the 3.8 supercharged V6 in the GTP http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/articles1.php?id=57 Hope this helps. "G"
If you do not have a routing (belt) diagram under your hood for some reason or other . Just go to any auto parts store and ask for a copy of routing diagrams from either their Gates Serpentine books or whoever supplies them with their serpentine belts . But they DO have that information . You will have to know how many pulleys your vehicle has though,so draw out your pulley position on a piece of paper! THIS IS A MUST in order to get the right route.
Should be a placard under the hood somewhere with a diagram of the belt routing. If it is missing then look in your owners manual.
Normally there is (or was) a diagram under the hood - looks like a "sticker".OR - You could buy a "service manual" - Clymer or Chiltons print them - from Advance/Auto Zone/Oreillys/etc. for the vehicle.$20 more or less and a good source of info.
Yoy put a 15mm wrench or socket on the belt tensioner and push down. Belt will slide off now. A belt routing diagram is a must.
Check out 2carpro's.com, they have some great diagrams of belt routing.
I have a 95 GC Laredo and the serpentine belt routing diagram is "printed" on the top of the belt tensioner mechanism which is on the LEFT side of he engine compartment as you are facing the front of the vehicle.
If the belt (probably just the non-air conditioning equipped size) can be installed without it touching the air conditioner pulley, then yes, it will work fine. The short belt will use the same routing as the long, just omit the a/c pulley.
