Molly, I'm coming to get you. Molly." Then it makes a squeaky noise.

The Peace Doll.

A girl named Maria was looking through a clothes booklet. At the end of the booklet, there was a pop-up. She looked through it and she saw a lovely doll, in a dark blue velvet dress, with gorgous gloves too match. She begged, and begged her mother, to buy her the doll and her mother said ''Mabey, if you behave''.

That day Maria's mother ( Without telling Maria ) went to buy the doll. But Maria's mother was also going to Maria's aute, and uncles house. After school Maria's mother picked Maria up from school early. Her mother said ''Your auty and uncle have died in a fire today.'' As Maria's mouth opened to protest, her mother quikly said ''But I got you this doll today.'' Maria's mother, gave Maria the doll. But Maria was looking at the doll in a strange way. ''Mother, why is the doll holding up two fingers, like a peace sighn?'' Maria's mother shrugged, and went into the house.( 8.00pm ) Maria went to bed, and left the doll downstaries incase it got broken. That night Maria heard some-one say ''Come play with me Maria'' She thought it was nothing so she went back to sleep. Then she heard it again ''Maria, I'v got a knife! Come play with me!'' She ignored this and went back to sleep. Then she heard it agian ''Maria im coming up the staires'' Maria now heard this quite clear, and was scared. Then she heard it again ''Maria im opening your door!'' Maria now who was shaking, Ran from her bed and into the cubord, then she heard it again ''Maria you cannot hide!'' Maria now breathed silently then she heard somthing that chilled her flesh ''Maria! I KILLED YOUR PARENTS!'' Maria closed her eyes and tryed to block out the moking.

Next Morning:

Maria's friends went over to Maria's house to ask if she could play. But when they knocked no-one answerd so they went inside, they went to Maria's room and saw a doll lying on her bed. But it had 4 fingers up. And that was the amount of people who had dyed! >:)

A mum had a baby and they were happy together. One day, the father is at work and at night the mum gets text saying: IM AT YOUR FRONT DOOORRR!! she carried on ironing. then she gets another text saying: IM AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS!! she gets a bit worried but carries on. then she gets another text saying: IM HALFWAY UP YOUR STAIRS!!! she is very worried now and calls the police but the phone line had been cut out. she gets another text saying: IM AT THE TOP OF YA STAIRS. She is sooo worried now. Then she gets another text saying: I'VE KILLED YOUR BABY. she finds the baby dead in the cot with a smiling doll next to her...

If your looking for something to tell your friends in the dark, one of my favorites is this -

Once upon a time, there was this small family, a mom, dad, and their daughter, Katy, and Katy's golden retriver, Tanner. Katy loved Tanner, and whenever she felt unsafe, scared, or nervous, the would touch her hand to the dog's snout, and Tanner would lick her hand to calm her, and she would instantly feel better.

One night, Katy's parents wanted to go out, so they allowed Katy's best friend, Ellen, to spend the night, they decided that the dog would be a good protection against the two girls. After her parents had left, the girls had went to sleep, or tried, Katy heard noises outside, so she put her hand on the dog's snout, and he licked it. After that, she drifted into sleep.

The next morning, Katy looked over at her friend to see if she was awake, only to find her dead in a mess of blood, she'd been stabbed many times. Then she looked down and saw her dog, dead as well, stabbed many times. She found writing on her wall in dark red. Blood. Tanner's blood. It wrote -

HUMANS CAN LICK TOO!!!!

She screamed, and her parents soon told her someone had escaped and asylum.

A good scary story for a sleepover is the ones that start off really scary but end in a hilarious way-it really makes people jump.

Like this one for instance, the viper.

One time there was girl at home by her self. She was incredibly bored, just laying in her bed because she could not fall asleep and it was like 4 in the morning. Suddenly she heard the phone ring downstairs so he went to check it. A voice said to her:

"The viper is 1 hour away from your door"

The girl just thought it was a prank call but later it rang again.

"the viper is 10 minutes away from your door"

Now the girl got really freaked out so she rang the police.

Some time after the phone rang again:

"The viper is 5 minutes away from your door!"

And later on again:

"The viper is 2 steps away from your door!"

She heard a knock on the door. She thought it was the police, but instead there was a man with a sponge and a bucket in his hand. He said-Hello, I am the viper, and I wish to wash and vipe your windows!"

This girl was with her friends in school on an average school day. In the middle of one of her classes, there was a firedrill. Everyone had to exit the school, so she did with her friends. While outside of the school, the girls friends thought it would be funny to push her into the sewers that were right in front of the school. They pushed her into the sewer while laughing. The school noticed that she was missing, so her friends told them that she fell down into the sewer. Police and firemen swarmed the area, and they all asked her friends what happened. They told them that it was an accident-the believed her. When they found the girl's body, her neck was broken from hitting the ladder on the way down, and the skin on her face was completely torn off from the direct impact of the fall in the sewer.

This story has been posted in many myspace and Yahoo bullitens all over the US after this happened, along with a twist. At the end of the bulliten, it said that anyone who doesn't pass this story on wil hear laughter in the shower, then die that same night. Well, two months after this happened, a boy opened his myspace page and opened this bulliten, but payed no attention to it. He logged out from his myspace and went to take his daily shower. In the shower, he started to faintly hear laughter. He didn't mind, it, so he continued. He heard it getting louder and louder, and go so freaked out that he rushed out of the shower and quickly posted the bulliten, then went to bed, scared.

In the early morning hours, his mother came home from work and went into his room to check on him. He wasn't there. His mother frantically called the police, so they went looking for him. They found him an hour later-he was at the bottom of their town sewer, his neck was broken, and the skin on his face was completely CUT off, blood was everywhere, he was dead.

This is not MY work but this is my favorite scary story:

His name was Algernon.

He was a sleek, white horse that could run like the wind. Penetrating eyes and a voice that spoke in whispers, "I'll take you wherever you want to go."

Sam loved to ride him, throughout the countryside - past forests and castles and mountains that reached so high that they seemed to touch the heavens - anywhere he wanted to go. That was the promise.

On this particular day, he chose to explore India. "Hello, boy! Are you ready for another adventure?" He climbed aboard Algernon and whispered, "India. I would like to see India, my faithful steed," and they were off, galloping at a frenzied pace across the lawn, building up so much speed that his hooves lifted from the ground and launched them both into the air across the countryside and beyond.

It didn't take them long. Algernon was a fast horse. The fastest horse ever in the history of fast horses, and Sam was the best rider in the history of best riders. He was brave and strong and never once lost his grip or his nerve.

They had traveled to so many places, since they met in the park this past year. Places that would send a chill up your spin full of danger and dread. Sam was strong, though, brave and strong. He loved the adventure. Nothing stopped him from picking the most perilous points on the map.

Today, however, he wanted something a little different. He wanted to see a peaceful place where the landscape was beautiful and where people cared for all that surrounded them. Where animals were treated with the same kindness as kings.

So, as they rode through the clouds, Sam thought on dreams of India.

They touched down on a small plot of land with trees to the south and mountains to the north and a solitary figure seated on the ground.

An old man sat under a tree with his legs crossed beneath him and his eyes fixed on nothing in particular.

He seemed not to notice the horse and rider descend from the sky as if horses dropped from the sky all the time.

As Algernon came to a rest, Sam climbed down and examined his surroundings. Other than the man, there was no one in sight except for a great large cow looking on with amused interest. His interest satisfied, he turned back to the patch of grass he was munching on.

Sam approached the old man and started to ask, "Sir, could you…", but he was quickly cut off by the man who raised a finger to his lips as if to say, "sssshhhh!"

Not only was Sam brave and strong, he was also polite. He immediately stopped talking and waited.

He waited for quite a long time for the man to speak. He waited for what seemed like forever for the man to even move a muscle. The man just sat there frozen, staring off at nothing at all or so it seemed to Sam.

Ready to abandon this pointless pursuit, Sam walked back to Algernon.

"There's nothing here, boy. I wanted someplace peaceful to go today, but I didn't realize it was this peaceful." Algernon turned his head, shook his mane and whispered back, "There is so much drama in his silence, listen."

Sam coiled up his face in confusion, drama in his silence? What could that mean? So, he turned back to the man.

He approached him, sat down facing him and tried to find the drama in the silence. The man remained there unblinking.

After a long while, Sam noticed the deep ridges in the old man's face began to recede. His eyes began to change from black to a faint blue. The gray hairs on his head slowly changed to a rich black and all the pain and burden of a lifetime began to lift.

Sam sat there in astonishment. He wondered what had caused this miraculous transformation. Was it a potion or some sort of magic spell? What could the man be thinking about that would make him young again?

Finally, the transformation was complete. No longer was an old man sitting there in front of Sam, but a young vibrant boy who was strong and brave and ready for an adventure.

The boy smiled a great huge smile and whispered a soft, "Thank you." He gathered himself up and strode over to the waiting Algernon. "Hello, boy! Are you ready for another adventure?"

Sam sat there in astonishment. He wanted to stop them, but his body wouldn't move. He tried to shout out, but he couldn't find his voice. He just sat there under that tree. The cow stared at him and Sam thought he heard him laugh.

Sam looked down at his unmoving legs and saw his hands: deeply wrinkled and gnarled up with age. His quickly threw his hands up to his face and touched the heavy ridges that now stretched across like the face of an old, old man's. He pulled a lock of his hair, once brown, now a brittle gray.

He cried out, but no sound followed. He reached into his mouth to discover his tongue was gone. His life was almost over and his crippled legs sat unmoving below him. As he looked up...

The boy climbed aboard the faithful steed and whispered, "Montana."

Algernon was off, building up so much speed that his hooves lifted from the ground and launched them both into the air across the countryside and beyond.

A story can be either plot driven, character driven, or both. Most are stories are both but one or the other usually takes precedence. Charles Dickens' novels are primarily character driven Ian Flemings' are plot driven (although all the plots are the same.) If you need a place to start - trying thinking up interesting characters who can be developed and evolved against an interesting plot, or think up a good crisis that characters can be illuminated through.
