It depends....and be glad YOU don't have to decide. Although nature benefits from burning and the health of the forest is often improved, humans often build in fire-prone areas and damage and loss of life can be terrible. If it is very dry, the wind is strong and the fuel is great....it can be a disaster. The ideal situation is to have small controlled fires that present low risk to burn off the excess fuel in the forest.
