Then my distributor went out and I replace it and the problem did not come back. ---------- The speedometer cable probably needs to be lubricated with graphite powder. it depends on what it is doing, does it not work at all? or does it jump around? could be the plastic speedo gear in the transmission, or it could be your speedometer itself. i have had a problem with mine and i need to replace my speedometer, the back assembly has gone bad. it jumps around. mazurlaser@aol.com

It usually means that there is something wrong with the fuel gauge itself. It's like when the speedometer is out, just get i checked by the car manufacturer
