Please re-read my question! IT WAS MY SPOUSE (husband) who borrowed the $$$ without my knowledge or consent. -ses01
yes, although I would advise that if you are married you do consent your spouse, no adult with full mental capacity needs another adults consent to have surgery
If she is the one receiving the treatment, yes. If however you are the one planning the operation, I would suggest discussing the situation with them and coming to an agreement as going through with this operation without their 'consent' will redoubtably cause catastrophic problem in your relationship however you do not need their agreement to go through with the surgery.

If joe and Mary are married, and the house was bought using "Tenants in the Entirity" (which is the default for married buyers), then yes, the ownership of the house passes to the surviving spouse without any tax consequences. It's a privilege given to married people that single people do not have.

Yes. In fact, a complete stranger can post bail for you, even without your consent or knowledge.
Probably not because it is a joint account. Pre-nup!!
Yes, you can sell a house without spousal consent it their name isn't on the mortgage. If their name is on the mortgage, you will need their consent.
Yes, you can get a divorce in California without spousal consent. California is a "no-fault" divorce state, which means that either spouse can request a divorce without needing the consent or agreement of the other spouse. However, the other spouse will still need to be officially served with divorce papers and has the right to respond to the request.
If both names are on the deed, then both signatures are required. If the spouse has signed a quit claim deed to the home, then the other does not need consent.
With cash of course......Yes... Spousal Consent would be needed if the property was to be purchased by taking out a loan in both spouses names...But there are no laws requiring spousal consent for another spouse to make cash purchases of property...
You can refinance without the spouse but you will need their consent to do so. If the spouse is on the title of the home, the answer is "no". If the spouse is on the existing mortgage the answer is "no". If the spouse is not on title you need to indicate on the loan application that you are married, and if you don't is fraud. At the time of closing she/he would have to be present. Inform you spouse of your actions.

Many insurance companies will not let you change your beneficiary, if it is your spouse, without their knowledge. You will have to contact your insurance comapny to find out. Contact your insurance company. Your spouse won't know you've changed it. If they need to send you a new policy, ask them to let you pick it up at their local office. If they can only mail it to you, be sure to collect the mail before your spouse sees it.
yes they can
If you can prove it, you're homefree.
No you may not. The insured must sign the application and in most cases be subject to a paramed exam based on the amount of insurance requested. The one exception to this rule is an individual may purchase some life insurance thru work (if available) up to a certain limit for their family members without their signatures or knowledge. People buy life insurance for 3 reasons. Love, character or a divorce decree. If your spouse is a person of character and if he/she loves you, they will sign on the dotted line. 4lifeguild
