Soft reset your iPhone (turn off and turn back on) If that doesnt work try hard reseting you iPhone (hold down sleep/wake button and home button until the apple logo apears- don't worry it doesn't affect your apps/music) If that doesn't work restart your computer. If that doesn't work then download the latest version of itunes.

How do you turn on your iPhone 4S?

How to Turn Your iPhone On and OffThe Sleep/Wake button is what turns your iPhone on and off. Apple has taken the time to partially charge your iPhone at the factory, so when you buy it, you'll get some measure of instant gratification when you turn it on for the first time. After taking your iPhone out of the box, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button at the top-right edge. The famous Apple logo should show up on your screen, followed a few seconds later by a stunning image of Earth. To turn the device off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until a red arrow appears at the top of the screen. Then drag the arrow to the right with your finger. Tap Cancel if you want to change your mind. While you can keep your iPhone turned on all the time, many people choose to turn off their iPhones off during times of indisposition, such as when they are sleeping, at work, out to dinner with friends, or in a movie theater. This saves your battery for the times when you do want to use your iPhone (and saves you from rude glances from other movie-going patrons if your phone starts to ring during a movie's climax).

How can you restart your iPhone 3G in safe mode?

Disconnect your iPhone and turn it off by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then slide the red slider. If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again. Once it's off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug your iPhone into a Mac or PC with iTunes installed. Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a dock cable pointing to the iTunes icon. iPhones running older software will display a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes". Once you see this image, you can release the Home button. This puts your iPhone in "Restore" mode. I don't think there is a "safe" mode for iPhone.
