It's possible that you could have a chest infection, but I highly doubt so
it could just be that you have stretched that area too much recently and it hurts.
If it still does after several days, best get checked out by a doctor :)
Could possibly be bruised ribs, when I was 5 I was in this condition for about a week and when it started seriously hurting my mom took me to the doctor to get an x-ray and I had 3 bruised ribs from falling from a tree, best talk to your doctor about it :)

∙ 16y agoYes, coughing hard will make your ribs sore. Coughing too much can even cause you to break a rib, so it's best to find out what's causing the cough.

i don't know but my ribs hurt soooooo bad i hooope i get an answer too well if your ribs hurt when you run then that's what it felt like for my knees...then you have to go to orthopedics...that's where you do excercizes to help out your ribs or knees or anything that hurts. i did it and now the pain in my knees is gone, but when you stop orthropedics then you have to continue on with the excercized...and if it hurts really bad then you might'be pulled something by your ribs. and if it hurts through your ribs down to your hip then you probably definitely pulled a muscle, but anyways i think you should really go to a doctor.
