Alexander Graham Bell(1847-1922) was born Scottish, immigrated to Canada, moved to the the United States to fight legal battles over his invention and lived in both Canada and the U.S.A. for the rest of his life until he died in Nova Scotia Canada. He also invented the telephne in Banford , Ontario in 1874.
No. Neither was Canadian.
Thomas Edison was born in 1847 in Milan, Ohio although his father was a Canadian by birth.
Alexander Grahame Bell was born, also in 1847, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Although he moved to Canada when 23 he always retained his British citizenship.
Correction: Canadian Citizenship did not exist when Bell immigrated to Canada. All Canadians were British subjects and nationals. The Canadian Citizenship Act was not until 25 years after Bell died. Many Canadians consider him a honorary citizen because of his residence in Canada for many years prior to his death.
No, he was born in Scotland. You see, Bell's family immigrated to Canada and lived in Canada before the Canadian Citizenship Act was passed.
It wasn't possible to become a Canadian Citizen until 1947 (over 20 years after Bell's death). He would have been classified as a British subject and citizen, as Canada was still part of the British Empire. He has since been classified as an honorary Canadian, because many of his ideas and experiments originated in Canada, not to mention his family.
During the final 30 years of his life, he spent lots more time in his summer house in Nova Scotia. This is the last place he lived. He both died and chose to be buried in Canada, but not in that order.
Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1847.
He moved in 1870 aged 23.

Yes, he did. Also, it was where he invented the first telephone.
Yes he did move.:) i just don't know where. But he moved with his grandfather because he was not doing well in school and just sent away.
Bell's parents decided to move to Canada in 1870, when Bell was 23, after both of Alexander's brothers had died of tuberculosis, aged 19 and 25. Bell himself had been in poor health for many months. Bell's father had previously convalesced in Newfoundland, so the family moved from London to Brantford, Ontario. Bell himself took teaching positions in Boston and lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts after his marriage in 1877. In 1882, he became a naturalized US citizen. Bell later moved to Nova Scotia, and lived to the age of 75.
