Aristotle held the view that some people were inherently slaves, while others were inherently slave owners. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher.
Aristotle's first wife, Pythias, had a daughter of the same name. After his first wife died, Aristotle took her former slave, Herpyllis, as his mistress. The two had a son, Nichomacus.
There are quite a few places named after Aristotle including the Aristotle (municipality), in Chalkidiki, Greece, Aristotle Lane Oxford England, Aristotle Mountains Antarctica, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece, and Platia Aristotle (Aristotle Square), Thessaloniki Greece.
Proxenus raised Aristotle from when Aristotle was 10, up til Aristotle was 17.
You can get the pictures on Google Images and in fact he had 2 wifes. One was Pythias(Hermia's adoptive daughter) and the second wife was Herpyllis(Pythias's slave) Hope this answer helped (:

Well after reading a bit about slavery in Aristotle's "Politics" I came to have a different understanding for it. If you separate yourself from what you know about the atrocities committed under the name of slavery and think in philosophical terms, there is a way to justify it. I'll answer you're question with a question: Would you think it is OK to have a slave if to achieve both the slave and master's goal it is their advantage to have this symbiotic relationship? Aristotle contends that a slave and master can be friends. I go over this stuff a bit better on my blog at http://www.thephilosophizer.com I hope that provides you with at least a different viewpoint
