The series Wire in the Blood is a book that was written by Val McDermid. There is a British television series that ran from 2002 to 2008 that was based on the book and the characters that were created by Val McDermid.
It definitely was..made in about 1977. I know this because it was filmed in Ealing and I walked through the film set on my way to school and got shouted at. I think it was called 'People like us' for TV but can't find any reference to it on Google. It was filmed just off Northfileds Avenue in a street of Edwardian houses..either Devonshire Road or Overdale Road.not sure which one. I'm glad someone else remembers it.thought I was imagining things.
