No he was not.

Elvis loved Priscilla but prior to his marriage to her he lived a wild lifestyle and loved the company of women. It has been said he was reluctant to get married, because he had no interest in changing that lifestyle. He married Priscilla, and continued almost living the life of a bachelor.

He almost always had affairs with leading ladies on the movie sets, but that was just a drop in the bucket. He had a serious affair/relationship with Ann Margaret while in a serious relationship with Priscilla. In fact it is said that he struggled to chose between them, as both wanted to get married. Elvis was in love with Ann but his deep attachment was to Priscilla. According to all who knew Elvis he loved Priscilla very much. It is a myth that he was somehow forced to marry her. The fact is he was given an ultimatum from Colonel Parker, to "marry her or not" because the Col. felt he had dragged his feet in their relationship long enough and that it didn't look good to his image. It's likely that Priscilla's parents were reaching the point of wanting to issue an ultimatum as well. But Elvis was not pressured to marry her, he was simply pressured to make a decision. Like any man who thoroughly enjoys being single, Elvis would have much preferred to remain single. But he was not willing to choose a life without Priscilla.

Here is a very intimate and special moment captured in time, in Priscilla's words:

"I was surprised he was holding up so well, considering how nervous he'd been about this ultimate commitment... He carried me across the threshold of our house singing "The Hawaiian Wedding Song". He stopped and gave me a long, loving kiss, then proceeded to carry me up the stairs to our bedroom, the whole crowd teasing. It was still daylight and the sun shone brightly through our bedroom windows as Elvis carefully placed me in the middle of our king-size bed. I don't think he really knew what to do with me. After all, Elvis had protected me and saved me for so long. He was now understandably hesitant about fulfilling all his promises about how very good this moment was going to be. Looking back, I have to laugh when I remember how nervous we both were. One would have thought it was the first time we had ever been together under intimate circumstances. Gently his lips touched mine. Then he looked deeply into my eyes. "My wife," he said softly, as he drew me close. "I love you Cilla". The intensity of emotion I was experiencing was electrifying. The desire and lust that had built up in me throughout the years exploded in a frenzy of passion. Could he have known how it would be for me? I'll never know. But I do know that as I went from child to woman, the long, romantic, yet frustrating adventure that Elvis and I had shared all seemed worthwhile."

During their marriage Priscilla knew that Elvis was not faithful to her, and Elvis was often gone for long periods of time. After she had Lisa Marie she was even more sensitive to his long absences and his affairs, which hurt her very deeply. She requested to join him on movie sets and she spent time in L.A. during the shooting of some of his films, however Elvis didn't prefer it. They had other problems in their marriage, but ultimately it was the affairs and his absence that caused them to grow apart and eventually divorce. According to her, and others, they remained close after divorce, they would still hold hands and sit close together when together. Priscilla has said it was like they never really divorced.

While Elvis was crushed that Priscilla left him, and the loss of his family devastated him, he made no promises to change in any way, and Priscilla had no reason to believe he ever would. Priscilla hints in her book that if he had made such promises to change his ways, she would have stayed.

In a phone conversation toward the end of 1976 or early 1977, according to Priscilla, they discussed the possibility of getting back together:

Priscilla

"Do you think you can really live with one woman?"

Elvis

"Yes, now more than ever. I know I've done some stupid things, but the stupidest was not realizing what I had until I lost it."

Priscilla

"Maybe it was just too early in life for us. Maybe one day there will be a time for us."

Yes

----

Barely. She almost had an affair with her dancing teacher Mark when Elvis was going through a busy, rough time until Priscilla pulled out of it.

Actually I was understood that she did have an affair with Mike Stone, a karate instructor that Elvis actually hired for her.

----

She was not faithful to Elvis, no. She did have an affair with Steven Peck the dance teacher - in the late 60's. She called him "Mark" in her book. Then she had an affair with Mike Stone.

Also , I must admit , that Elvis was unfaithful first & often... but , then again , He IS Elvis....so.....

Priscilla Beaulieu Presley had stayed with Presley during the 1960s (they had first met in Germany, when she was only fourteen). They married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas.
