No there has never been a credible link made between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda. The 9/11 attacks where carried out by Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda and the majority of the hijackers, 15 of the 19 came from Saudi Arabia, none where Iraq citizens. Even George Bush said that in 2003: "No, we've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th," Bush said. You can read the quote at http://www.seattlepi.com/national/140133_bushiraq18.html and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3119676.stm. Here is a quote from George Tenet: On April 29, 2007, former Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet said on 60 Minutes, "We could never verify that there was any Iraqi authority, direction and control, complicity with al-Qaeda for 9/11 or any operational act against America, period." You can read the entire interview at http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2007/04/30/snow/index.html. In fact Saddam Hussein never really liked al-Qaeda and the relationship was never overly positive. The official report of the 9/11 commissions says "Bin Ladin was also willing to explore possibilities for cooperation with Iraq, even though Iraq's dictator, Saddam Hussein, had never had an Islamist agenda---save for his opportunistic pose as a defender of the faithful against "Crusaders" during the Gulf War of 1991. Moreover, Bin Ladin had in fact been sponsoring anti-Saddam Islamists in Iraqi Kurdistan, and sought to attract them into his Islamic army." The full report is at http://www.gpoaccess.gov/911/pdf/fullreport.pdf. I think when George Bush and his Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet say there was no link and they were the man that decided to invade Iraq I think it is safe to say there is no link.
The terrorists who caused 9/11 had nothing at all to do with the Iraqi Regime and the basis for entering the Iraq War was to find weapons of mass destruction. However, Bush's administration tried to tie Saddam Hussein to the 9/11 attacks even though there was no link.
Yes and No. While there were no actual linkages between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda and therefore no true connection between the events of September 11th and the Iraq War, the Bush Government argued that there was such a connection and it was one of the motivating reasons for entering Iraq. (The whole rationale was that Iraq was developing Weapons of Mass Destruction and could possibly sell them to rogue organizations like al-Qaeda. We know now that this was factually false and many argue that the Bush Government know the falsity of that statement back in 2003.)

No, 9/11 is what caused our massive strikes in Afghanistan.
Iraq was caused by the Iraqi leader Saddam, who repeatedly showed aggression toward the UN and his neighbors.

October 7, 2001 This is in correct . The war has been going on since 1979. Yes. This almost a thirty-year old war! The U.S. was brought into the war in 2001 after the September 11,2001 attacks.
The attacks of September 11, 2001, led to the declaration by President George W. Bush that the US was involved in global "war on terror" (war on terrorism). The US efforts to act against known terrorists led to the ongoing War in Afghanistan (2001) and the War in Iraq (2005, occupation continues).
The war in Iraq, 9/11, not to mention constant critisism.
The last US declared war was on December 11, 1941. Congress approved military action against Iraq during Operation Desert Storm (Jan-Feb '91).
9/11 caused George W. Bush to launch a war against terrorism. When we went looking for Bin Laden in Afganistan, it brought us to the conflict occurring in Iraq
Yes, as a result, the war on terror was started.
Technically, the "war on terrorism" is not a war. Bush never declared a war and he never got the approval of congress to go into Iraq.
the Americans searched Iraq for nucealur weapons without permision and the Iraq people got mad and crashed the twin towers
Evidence has yet to be produced that Iraq had anything to do with it.
it was the day that changed everything. its the reasons for a lot of things like high gas prices and why we are in war with iraq. :(
No, it did not. The two are not linked. If anything, Iraq viewed Al-Qaida with hostility and apprehension. They were anything but allies. No, Iraq was not linked to the attacks on 9-11.
Iraq & Afganistan
The US is NOT at war with the Government of Iraq. The US/Coalition, is trying to establish/restore law, order, and stability to the nation. The US is at war with terrorists globally for attacking the USA on September 11, 2001. The terrorists attacked America first, and America has the right to defend itself.
On the September 11 terrorists attack, 11Australian were killed. With this, Australia supported the US on their invasion in Iraq with 550 combat troops.
9/11. conflict and oil.
i think September 11 represent the death that cause 9/11
