But when they conquered it, they liked the style of art, language, and politics of the Greeks. They then copied their art and culture and built the greatest empire ever built in that area. So when you read about the rennaciannse, the archetects who made those beautiful statues are from Italy, the descendants of the Romans. And the style and beauty of those statues comes from the Greeks. So Leonardo and Michaelangolo better thank the Greeks for all they have accompilished! Briefly, Indo-European nomads from Asia who captured and settled as farmers in peninsular Greece, and then established colonies around the Mediterranean and Black Seas from Spain in the west to Asia Minor in the east.
