The two ways that materials can pass through the cell membrane are active transport and passive transport. In active transport the molecules cannot pass freely across the membrane and have to be carried across in ways that require energy. In passive transport the molecules can pass freely across the membrane in ways that do not take any energy.

there are no ways for materials to enter a cell membrane because the cell membrane has a process that allows certain molecules to go in and out of the cell which is called ''selectively premeable''

the four ways things transport through a cell are:

passive diffusion: when a higher concentration is outside of the cell, then it diffused into a lower concentration inside the cell

facilitated diffusion: when the substance is not lipid or water soluble, they attach to something that is, and they both enter the cell and then separate once they enter the cell

active transport: a form of diffusion which requires energy. This is when there is a higher amount of concentration inside the cell so by using energy, the cell lets the substance in

endocytosis: when the cell engulfs the substance inside a vacuole

if they are large molecules they can get through the cell membrane because the cell membrane is like a maze and the particles just go right through but if it is too large like the cell's insides they cant get out

Active transport, diffusion, osmosis.

Active transport requires energy, but diffusion and osmosis do not.
