Even though the 62' Escape trio was officially believed to have drowned, several factors have concluded that they could have survived. For example, in 1962, John Paul Scott escaped from the prison and swam successfully to the shore around Fort Point. Might I add that he nearly died from the severe shock from the cold water. He was later taken from the hospital and returned to Alcatraz. Also, in an episode of Myth Busters, it was confirmed that the party of 3 could successfully row a makeshift raft to the shores of the Marin Headlands. So yes, it is entirely possible that the escapees could have survived.
no one knows or sure if anybody actually escaped and lived, but people have gotten into Sanfransisco bay.
yes they did
no one was intentionally meant to leave alcatraz alive but i guess the guy that escaped got to but he probably threw it away
It's on an rocky island, miles from shore, in very cold water, with rapid currents, that are known to contain white sharks, and it's very difficult to escape from Alcatraz and make it to shore alive. Only 3 people escaped from Alcatraz, and considering nothing was ever heard from them again, they probably died in the attempt, their bodies washed out to the Pacific Ocean, never to be seen again.
Yes people escaped in boats but not many boats made it back.
Mummies Alive - 1997 The Bird-Mummy of Alcatraz 1-33 was released on: USA: 10 November 1997
Some of the past prisoners are still alive, but the majority are.
Alcatraz was built on a small island in the middle of San Francisco bay, which has very cold water, with strong tides heading out to sea, and some sharks swimming around it. It is a good place for a maximum security prison, and only 3 people Might have escaped from it alive. (They were Never heard of again, so they Probably Died in the escape attempt and their bodies were not recovered). It was too expensive to maintain it, so it was shut down, and a new, less expensive, maximum security prison was built.
Claude Earl "Jack" Allen (211-AZ) died at USP Alcatraz on January 17, 1936.
Yes, some of them survived. Some who escaped to the USA have been interviewed here.
Yes he is still alive because there was recently a child that escaped and witnessed him saying that he is changing his plan because he has seen the youtube video of kony 2012.
6 of the original 12 crewmen were still alive when Odysseus escaped the Cyclops. They rejoined the remainder of the crew on their ship, and later the remaining men on the other 11 ships.
