Yes they do. Here are some.

Dragonflies have several adaptations to help it survive. One is that it can tip its wings to regulate the body temperature. They also bask in the sun to warm up. Another is that they are bullet shaped, they can fly forward and backward, can change direction quickly, and can fly 19-30 miles an hour. These can help it evade predators. Yet another adaptation of the dragonfly is that it has huge eyes. Although they cannot move, the eyes still provide good vision. The eyes are made up of up to 28,000 small lenses that the dragonfly uses to see. Another adaptation of this insect is 63% of its weight is made up of muscles. This allows for strong flying. One more adaptation of the dragonfly is that a sticky substance surrounds the eggs. This is useful because if there was none, the egg mass could come apart and flow down a stream. The substance keeps the eggs together and holds the eggs to an anchor. Those are some adaptations of the dragonfly.

Dragons originally had two wings and two legs, and so do the wyverns today. However, modern dragons have an excess of the DNA string that is responsible for legs, and so they have six limbs in all, a seemingly impossible feat. The wing of a dragon is like the wing of a bat.

If you go onto http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/801/908986.JPG and look at the picture of a bats wing (which is identical to a dragon wing), you can see the individual fingers that have evolved from a hand to a wing.

Dragons are mythological monsters that may be based in part on flying reptiles such as the Pterodactyl species. They do not exist in real life, many resemble Dinosaurs with wings added, a mixture of reptile and bat that would not be able to take off in real life. ( note stub-winged dragons on some sculptures that look more Dinosaurian) They don"t exist, so any discussion of aerodynamics is irrelevant. Puff the magic dragon, indeed!

Why did dragonflies evolve to have long abdomens?

Dragonflies have a potential problem of overheating while in flight. To avoid this problem dragonflies circulate their blood through their abdomens. The long, narrow shape allows the blood to cool faster.

All have adaptations to some extent. However in some cases they are insufficient to allow flight. Ostriches cannot fly for instance, though they have wings. It can be argued that penguins 'fly' under water.
