That is a very good question. So I'll answer it. Let's say that in 50 years, all of Earth's lakes, oceans, and rivers will be dangerously polluted. Then, all the fish in the bodys of water will die and so will the marine plants and sea animals. The next thing that could happen would be that the oxygen in the water and possibly the air will be gone, letting plants, animals, and even us Humans die of sufucation from the lack of oxygen and the rise of deadly, toxic fumes. Are you following me here?
1. the oil causes their feathers to stick together so they are unable to fly 2. the oil gets into their respiratory track causing breathing difficulties resulting in suffocation and death 3. the sea birds stuck at sea in the cold water can die of hypothernia
=If oil spills on any kind of animal the animal will most likily freak out because you know if you look at it animals are very senitif to anything touching them. They have fur but under that fur is very, very senitif skin.==It would affect them by having a very high fever and it's moods swings will affect it's every day life.So watch out about a pet that is really senitif to anything oily.==Lissten i would sudgest you keep animals away from oil stuff expet for animal shampoo because they need that alot to wash up.==This answer was done by: Doctor.Bingastinof=
Well you see theres a food chain. The fish die then birds die then wateva ate the birds dies then... ect ect And it then it'll come down to the humans. We will have nothing to eat because of the animals death. Hope that answers your question.
oil spills from tankers affect the ocean life and make the water dangerous for humans to swim in . also fisherman will lose money if all the fish die . as you may already know plankton requires light to exist. All l life forms in the ocean require plankton to survive as it is the first link in the ocean's food chain.
When oil blankets a part of the ocean, plankton dies by the billions , causing fish of most kinds to move to another area. This in my thinking causes a unnatural balanece and a cycle of over feeding by schools of fish that are now forced by circumstance to keep on the move. The thousands of bird, as well as other wildlife on land that depend on those birds for servival. So really everything living suffers from just one oil spill.
An oil spill most noticeable effects are on marine life and birds. The EPA is monitoring the water conditions in the coastal areas. I have included a link to the EPA, which was last updated on May 5. They reported that coastal waters are still safe for marine life but this may change as the spill progresses and more water sampling is done.
A partial list of birds that this oil spill could impact is provided in the second related link. The risk is highest for the coastal marine birds that travel long distances into the gulf looking for food.
The effect on humans and animals when there are oil spills is that the animal will die and the animal that usually eats that animal will die and so on. Humans will also be affected greatly because humans need water to drink.
people swim in seas so if the oil gets in their mouth they can die or harm their organs.
The atoms in the sea and oil react to each other create a mixture which is hard to separate from each other.
Not a lot, water and oil don't mix and so the oil will float on top of the water.
Water on bottom, oil on top and glycerin between them.
what happens to things that sit in water for a long time?
Oil is less dense than water. Therefore, equal volumes of water and oil will not have the same mass. You can prove this by weighing each. The cup of oil will weigh less.
.100 ml measuring cylinder .1 teaspoon .clear drinking cup . popsicle stick . salt .cooking oil well when you add salt to oil and water and than stirr it for 30 seconds but the all dont match ,and it turns white because alll whats mixxed together turns a differnt colour and when it is finshed being stirred as you can see that the oil will float to the top and salt will sink to the bottom of the drinking cup.
the reflection of the sun
It is spread in the water by an aircraft in the space where the oil spilled.
Naturally, as oil is a liquid it spreads out. And if we are talking about water it would spread on the surface of the water as oil and water don't mix.
Probably the amount that is spilled into the water....just guessing though.
well... it can harm the habitat of the fishes, the water and even the fishes themselves... this will also lead to the pollution of the specific waterform that had been oil spilled... if this happens then there will be a possibility that the living beings in that place will die...
Reading the question carefully, we find twostatementsthat we may assume are true:1). "The mass of this spilled oil is 823 grams."2). "The oil will not mix with the lake water."

Should be no damage, use soap and water to clean spilled oil.
