∙ 15y agoThe only real difference between the two is the ratio of general education vs. technical classes. A Bachelor of Arts (BA) has more gen. ed. and elective classes than Bachelor of Science (BS). This makes BA more flexible to the student, but also makes BS more attractive to a potential employer. If you want to go straight into the workforce, I'd take a BS. If you want to attend graduate school, a BA is certainly a viable option, especially if the grad program is not the same as the undergrad degree. Bear in mind that some majors only offer BA or BS, not both.

The BE is a bachelors that is particular to engineering although it could also be a BS, however its really up to the college or university as to which they decide to identify the degree by.
