Calvinism is a system of Christian belief developed by the reformer John Calvin. At it's simplest, it consists of five points which make up the acronym TULIP. They are: Total Depravity Unconditional Election Limited Atonement Irresistible Grace Perseverance (or Preservation) of the Saints

They believed in Predestination. In other words, God decreed, even before creating the world, who will be saved and who will be damned.

But this is NOT true. It says in The Bible that it is not God's will that anyone shall perish, but that all should have eternal life. =D Our God is a loving God.

To whoever wrote the above, you are partially correct: YES, God WANTS us all to have eternal life, HOWEVER, the dispute between God and Lucifer was about just that fact, EVERYONE canNOT have eternal salvation, or Lucifer would have been happy and his fall would have never happened.

Calvinists do believe in Predestination, yet, as Christians we should also because it is clearly stated in the Bible that He predestined some for His glory (Rom. 8:30-31).

The biggest difference I see in Calvinism and Arminianism (which is what basic Christianity is formed from) is the belief that MOST people aren't predestined for salvation. But I also see that there are extremist Calvinist just as there are extremists in any religious belief, and these people are the ones who say that everyone is going to hell and no one is good even when saved.

A Calvinist believes that God is in complete control of everything; even salvation. We believe what the Bible says about predestination. There is much more, but I don't have time right now.

Calvinism is not a religion, it is a theology. Calvinism teaches that a man cannot be saved by his "good" works, it cannot be earned, but is rather a gift from God, by grace, through faith.
