Cell phones are pricy and some students use it as a status symbol and bully other students that can't afford the newest phones.

Being a high school student myself i use my phone in school quite often. I have found that the advantages are that: you can communicate with your friends easily, you can play games on it when your bored in class, you can use it for pranks on your teacher, and you can sometimes use it to cheat on tests. Now not all of the advantages i have said apply to everyone but those are the most common. The disadvantages are: it can be taken away from you, it can distract you from learning, and it can disrupt class. Now depending on your age and maturity level with your phone the advantages and disadvantages vary slightly.
