I have never heard that you want them in your pool,Nor have I ever had anyone want to add any, Although Borate or Borax (Na2B4O2(H2O)10) is a low-toxicity mineral with insecticidal, fungicidal, and herbicidal properties.But I would not suggest putting them in your pool.
