∙ 7y agoCatalysts are substances that lowers activation energy of a reaction so the reaction occurs more quickly but, in the end, the catalyst is not used up by the reaction. The official definition of the word catalysts is "a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change."
