So I did not know that term either. I used to hear about delineators, channelizers etc. and did not really know what people were talking but in the last few years I've actually had to learn a bit of this because we had to do things like redirecting traffic and a bit of pedestrian redirecting. Delineators, cones, channelizers, traffic barrels are all devices that get used to help direct traffic, also help increase visibility for a work zone area to try to keep the workers (and the drivers) safer. If you go look at some place like Traffic Safety Warehouse or Uline you can get pictures of each of these types of devices but typically the delineators tend to look like tall posts with reflective tape on them (at least most of the ones I've seen) but someone might also refer to a traffic cone as a delineator too and not be totally wrong as that still 'delineates' or guides traffic. However, I'd say that an actual delineator in the traffic world refers to the taller post-like dividers you see on the highway. Go look at pictures on those sites and you'll recognize them right away because everyone has seen them.
